Choosing A Motorcycle Helmet!

When choosing a new motorcycle helmet you have a lot of different factors to take into account. Firstly you need to decide on helmet style, there are quite a few different styles that have very different looks.

Styles:

Full Face Motorcycle Helmet - The full-face motorcycle helmet offers much more protection than any other style, it covers your whole head, chin and face. The only negatives are the lack of wind on your face...and sometimes limited vision.

Open-Face Motorcycle Helmet - The open face helmet covers your face and head much like a full-face motorcycle helmet, however, it does not have a chin bar.

Low-Profile Motorcycle Helmet - Low profile motorcycle helmets offer very little protection apart from the head, they generally require a pair of goggles to protect the eyes.

Leather Motorcycle Helmets - Often German in style, these helmets often look very cool, however, make sure they are DOT approved.

Novelty Helmets - Once again, make sure these are DOT approved before purchasing, it's pointless buying a helmet that offers no real protection.

The next thing you need to think about is design. Helmets today come in all sorts of colours, however, it has been proven that those wearing bright helmets are less likely to get into an accident than those wearing dull colours.

So once you have the style and colour decided you can start narrowing down your search, one of the great things with full-face helmets, apart from the great protection, is that you can buy them with Bluetooth enabled, an added bonus.
